This number includes clients over 18 years old, and 217 clients under 18 who were treated as adults based on their individual living situation. During the 2005/2006 fiscal year, 82% (20,380) of them received outpatient service, 21% (5,204) received detoxification service, 11% (2,743) underwent residential therapy, and 5% (1,235) received opioid dependency treatment.

Cocaine/crack and hallucinogens were the most frequently reported drugs used by Albertans during their life, both reported by 12.3%. Only 3.5% of Albertans sampled admitted the use of an illicit drug other than marijuana during the past year (approximately 82,000 Albertans; Table 19), with the widest proportion being cocaine use at 2.4% . Over half of Albertans reported that hallucinogens, ecstasy, cocaine/crack or speed would be readily or very easy to obtain. About one-third admitted these substances would be fairly or very hard to obtain, and around 10% reported them as most likely impossible to obtain. Most of clients (adults and youth) report consuming alcohol (86%) and tobacco (76%). Over 50% of clients report using cannabis and more than a third (38%) also report using cocaine.
